Cottage

Since cottages are often built near lakes or rivers where soil density is low, they need sturdy and stable foundations to remain level despite ground movements induced by frost and thaw cycles.
If your cottage’s old foundations have suffered the effects of time, we can install screw piles underneath the structure to straighten it out or to reinforce it.

Stability and solidity

Screw piles will provide your cottage with a sturdy and stable foundation that will resist ground movements due to the soil’s composition or to frost and thaw cycles. Screw piles are also an ideal solution in flood prone zones or on steep inclines.

Driven down below the ground’s frost line and anchored down thanks to a helix plate set at the bottom of the pile’s shaft, our piles are impervious to temperature fluctuations and to ground movements. Set on stable foundations, your cottage will gracefully weather the changing seasons.

Quick and easy installation

The number, size and placement of the piles will depend on the type of structure and its weight. Our professionals will determine the right type of pile for your needs based on the scope of the structure and the type of soil. Since cottages are often built in low density soils, the piles will also be chosen with that element in mind.

Screw piles could allow you to forgo excavation work altogether, and the machinery we use is much lighter than that necessary to build traditional concrete foundations. Our Kubota mini-tractor is equipped with lawn tires that will not damage your property, contrary to the heavy machinery required for regular foundations. Our equipment is also capable of circulating and functioning in very tight spots.

You will be ready to start building your cottage as soon as the piles have been driven into the ground. No additional delays required! Make sure, however to provide adequate insulation to your cottage’s floor since its underside will be exposed to the elements.

Our Piles

Similar to a giant screw, the piles are driven into the ground using specialized equipment and are anchored into place thanks to a helix plate situated at the bottom of the shaft. The piles can therefore securely support structures such as houses, patios, garden sheds, fences and much more. The piles can be used to support new or existent structures.
